St. Anthony's B.N.S. will close on Friday 7th April for the Easter Holidays @ 12 noon.The School will re-open on Monday 24th April @ 8.50 am. We wish all Staff, Pupils and their families a Happy Easter!

Recent Competitions

(Boys in Classes 3rd to 6th): Summary of News, results from recent competitions:

  • Our Team squad won the final of the Sciath na Scol Football and Hurling Competitions again this year.

Current News:

  • The Sciath na Scol footballers are currently in action since September, competing in the inter-school competition.

Proposed Activities for rest of School Year:

1.    Inter-school Hurling blitz for 4th class

2.    Internal Scoil Antoine Football blitz for 4th and 5th classes: Shane Kavanagh tournament

Planning for School Year 2015-16

Younger Classes (1st class upwards)

Younger pupils in Scoil Antoine will receive coaching in hurling and football in the course of the school year.

 

Annual Competitions (Boys in Classes 3rd to 6th): Usual calendar of competitions:

 

Autumn:

  • The School Year starts with the Sciath na Scol Football Competition.
  • We usually field two teams in Roinn A. We have managed to be competitive while also catering for a very large number of footballers from Scoil Antoine each season.
  • If a team reaches the final of the Sciath na Scol Football Competition, it is usually involved in playing or training until late October or early November.

Winter:

  • During the winter, we hold trials and training for Indoor Hurling.
  • If a team reaches the final of the Indoor Hurling Competition, it is usually involved in playing or training until mid- March.
  • The dates for the Mini Sevens competition vary, but they are usually run off prior to the Easter break.

Spring & Summer:

• The Sciath na Scol Hurling Competition is spread across the second and third terms. We usually field two teams in hurling.

• If a team reaches the final of the Sciath na Scol Hurling Competition it is usually involved in playing or training until the end of May.

 

Activities for June:

  • Inter-school Hurling blitz for 4th class
  • Internal Scoil Antoine Football blitz for 4th and 5th classes: Shane Kavanagh tournament.
